When you start a Watch Me or Panic share, the app streams your GPS position every 7 seconds to a private relay at safe.wimzipal.com. Your contact opens the link and sees you moving in real time. Nothing is ever stored — the relay holds data in memory only and clears it the moment you stop sharing.
So it can attach your location to a Watch Me alert even if the app is in the background when the check-in timer expires. Your location is never collected passively — it's only used when you trigger an alert.
No. Every alert ends at a pre-filled Messages sheet that you tap Send on. iOS does not allow any app to send SMS silently, and that's by design for your privacy. Resculy makes this explicit in the app copy.
